Bronx, New York, U.S.- A drunk 22-year old man died in a car crash after trying to run over the new snapchat hot dog filter. His girlfriend was severely injured. She’s still alive to relate the story.
Snapchat rolled out a new hot dog filter. This augmented-reality filter shows a dancing hot dog at anywhere you point your camera.
Alex Tonto was driving on his way home with his girlfriend while using snapchat at the same time. They were both coming home from a party, and he was a little drunk. According to her, he “noticed the snapchat hot dog filter, and stared at it for a few seconds”. She, a little disconcerted, asked him what was wrong, and he immediately screamed: “WHAT IS THIS SH!T?!”. According to her, he got angry as she had never seen him before, and about a second later, he sped up to 100 km/h (62 mph).
“WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!?”, she yelled at him. He shouted: “I’M GONNA KILL HIM!”.
She told him to stop, but it was already late…
She later woke up at the hospital, to the news that his boyfriend died.
Authorities are still investigating the case.
